I studied late last night, woke up early to study some more, took my exam this morning, and had a preliminary dentist appointment this afternoon.  They sent me home with a new toothbrush. Hooray! It seemed like I did alright on my exam, but I am always nervous waiting for the scores to be posted online. [Edit: I got an A!]

Now it's time to get outside and enjoy the weather a little bit.  Hopefully everyone is staying cool- it's been very pleasant here, and barely humid at all. Have a lovely Thursday, everyone!

Studying, That's about it!

I am studying, studying, studying! We had a nice 4th of July and are back to the routine, today. I totally meant to take some of my free time, edit some photos, and write a nice blog post over the four day weekend (Fri-Mon), but that didn't happen since I was either studying or outside.  It's been time well spent, and I've got a third exam this Thursday.

On the random chance that anyone has any useful tips about learning chemical reactions, I'd be more than happy to hear them. :) This evening, I'll be hunkered down with my notecards learning the 70+ reactions and mechanisms we've heard in class the past few days.

Monday, Monday

The weekend flew by, and here it is... Monday, again!  Geez-- It was Monday just a week ago! {har har har} 

The weekend was nice and we spent as much of it outside as we could. While it was rainy, we bought and played a new card game called Zombie Fluxx. It's pretty fun. We played that and another card game (Munchkin) this weekend, too. Has anyone else played either of them before?

 They're easy to learn...and that's coming from ME. So...yeah. Well, I guess maybe only RACK-O is easier, but I've never found anyone who's ever played that game outside of family members. I ask around, too...so I'm pretty accustomed to the blank stares. Maybe I need to expose more people to RACK-O...

In other news...

• I got an A- in Human Anatomy in Physiology I, so I'm pretty stoked since I ACED the final (75 multiple choice, and 7 or so short answers). I'm looking forward to whenever I can take part II since we didn't get to the cranial nerves . yay. :)
• I got 80% on my first organic chemistry II test, which is better than I thought I'd do since my answer manual barely came in time for me to study with it. So, 80% isn't stellar, but we can drop the lowest of the four regular tests. (So 3 tests account for 60% of the grade, and the final accounts for 40% of the overall grade.)

I think in every single college class I've taken, my first test score is the worst. So, if it gets better from 80% and I can drop that score, it will probably turn out alright. The next exam is this Thursday, so I'll probably be MIA from the blogosphere until then.

Of course...

...the day I'm waiting for a package to arrive (that we "2-day Express" shipped through FedEx), I have seen a FedEx truck drive by once and a UPS truck drive by THREE times!! I've gotten excited each time a truck has passed by.  However, the excitement really isn't warranted...

Once I get my Organic Chemistry answer manual I'll have plenty of practice problems to correct on my own, and see how I'm doing. Ya know...since I really can't gauge myself without the right answers for comparison.

I've made it to 3 lectures, so far. There are 19 days of class (since we won't have class on July 4th), and the last day is the final. So, with a total of 18 lectures, I am {rounding up!} about 17% done with the lectures. {Not that I'm counting or anything!}
