Strawberries

Strawberries were on sale at the grocery store, so I bought some and decided to make dessert out of them.  They were deeeeeee-licious, and I should not be left alone with them, because I ate far more than my fair share.  {The mister was happy I left a few for him after he came home from work!} I dipped whole strawberries in either dark or white baker's chocolate, and then drizzled them with the opposite flavor.  Also, I tried slicing them into rounds, and dipped and drizzled those as well.  They stayed incredibly fresh, not that that was an issue though, because they disappeared way too fast. Yummmmm!

Whoa, looks good!

Here's our favorite thing to do with strawberries:

Wash, hull, and halve or slice a pint into a bowl. Sprinkle generously with sugar (a few tablespoons at least...) and let sit for 30 minutes or more, stirring gently once in a while. If you have it, add a splash of orange juice, triple sec, or grand marnier. Once you have a nice syrup collecting at the bottom of the bowl and the sugar is dissolved, you are ready to top french toast, waffles, pancakes, angel food cake with whipped cream, ice cream, or small, still animals with sweet syrupy strawberries.

em- they go quick, if you make 'em!
anony- Thank you!
kt- I will have to try that, next time I buy them. I hope they stay on sale, they can be expensive! Mmmm, animals! But I think I'll stick to topping my breakfast/desserts with it. :)
