Hot Air Balloon Festival: Version 3

Okay, so this will be my last set of hot air balloon pictures, I promise! {In case you missed them, here's the first set and here's the second set.} I didn't get out and take many pictures this weekend, so I figure that's just fine. I keep wanting to share a recipe or two, but I don't want to forget about these pretty balloons either. :)

We had a fun, relaxing weekend without doing too much.  We watched the ISU vs Texas game...which was pretty ridiculous...and not in a good way.

This balloon was starting to deflate by the time I walked over there to take his picture. The poor guy's losing too much weight, for a panda bear!

I was in a cooking and sewing mood this weekend, so I started making my second (of six) pillows. {The first one is here.} The Mr. and I also made Jell-O filled citrus fruit and a candy-corn style cheesecake, which is hard to explain so I'll post pictures later.

OH!! And don't forget to check out and enter em's giveaway here!!

Back to studying for me. Hope everyone had a nice weekend, and happy Monday

Hot Air Balloon Festival: Version 2

Gosh, it's the end of September already. Where did the time go??  I'm definitely enjoying the cooler temps, so I have to say that autumn is a welcome change. The rain, however, could lay off for a little bit.

Here are more of the pictures I took at the balloon festival. {If you want to see the pictures from 'Version 1', you can find them here.} I could have overloaded one post with a bunch of pics, but I figured it would be better to spread 'em out. There weren't too many balloons lined right next to each other, so I thought this one was pretty cool.

Four balloons, with a very foggy background.  Not sure how I would have gotten a picture this clear without post-processing. The fog made everything look so dull and grey.

Happiness is...a giant strawberry hot air balloon!!

I used Kim Klassen's cracker jack texture on the pumpkin balloon. It was so much fun seeing the giant jack'o'lantern!

Yesterday, em from Then Along Came the Boy awarded me a 'Versatile Blogger' award.  Thanks so much, em!  This is my first award, so I'll have to find somewhere fancy to put the new badge. :)

I am supposed to tell seven things about myself and then nominate others for the award. I agree to do the following things:

1. Thank the blogger who awarded me and link back to him/her
2. Share 7 things about myself
3. Pass the award along to 15 other newly discovered blogs.

Thanks again, em! Well, yesterday for my 100th post I listed 'The ABC's of Me'. So, here are seven NEW facts:

  • I much prefer driving to sitting in the passenger seat.
  • I enjoy writing long research papers.
  • I like when it's raining outside, and I'm inside.
  • Along with that, apple cider on the stove is one of my favorite 'food' smells.
  • I love the jewelry I already own, but never remember to wear anything besides my ring.
  • Going out to eat, my favorite food is sushi.
  • I am crocheting a blanket that has been intermittently worked on for at least two years because I keep losing it and re-finding it.

Hot Air Balloon Festival: Version 1

This weekend we went to the hot air balloon festival. It was pretty foggy, but we were still able to see the sights that were there to be seen! Since we got there early, we looked at some of the 'extra' things they had set up for viewing. It took place at a county airport, so it handled the crowds pretty well.

U.S. Air Force- the Mr. knew what type of plane this is, but I forgot what it's called.

These are the flames that are used for putting hot air in the balloons. It was pretty warm, even from where I was standing. I love the light the fire casts!

Remax balloon barely inflated...

...mid-inflation...

...and fully inflated!

This was a 'special shape' balloon. Could you imagine if that landed near you in a foggy field, all by yourself??

This was one of my favorite balloons!

NapTime MomTog

We made camp near this balloon while we watched the other 30 or so balloons inflate for awhile.

There are many more pictures from this weekend to post, so be on the lookout. I think we saw 30-40 balloons, in total.  I didn't want to show all of them right away, so the suspense awaits!
